Couple Credit Scratchcard Win to Their Dog

A Hampshire couple say they have their dog’s fussy eating habits to thank for a scratchcard win worth £1,000,000 after they had to make a special trip to buy him food.

Patrick Morling and his wife Paula just won the million after Patrick made a special trip to the supermarket to buy their fussy pooch food. While there he decided on a whim to buy a Monopoly Classic scratchcard and that card was a £1,000,000 winner.

The couple own Ollie, a nine-year-old springer-staffy cross but he’s very particular about his food and so Mr Morling went to a different store to stock up on what he likes. Now they are planning a round the world holiday to celebrate their big win.

Mr Morling scratched off the card in store and quickly realised he had a big winner, he waited in the queue and handed the card back to the sales assistant to verify that it was indeed the big win he thought it was, creating quite a commotion in store.

The couple are planning to buy their dream home and pay for their daughter’s wedding. They’ve always wanted to go to New Zealand and were planning the trip for their 30th anniversary last year but couldn’t afford it, they’ll now be taking that trip or combining it with other trips and making it a round the world trip.

As for Ollie they say they’ll be giving him some special treats and buying him a brand new bed as a thank you to him for being such a fussy dog!
