A Celebration of Lottery Funding Marks 25 Years of Lotto

We all know about Good Causes funding from the National Lottery in the UK. The fund puts a portion of all lottery spending to good use in sports, the arts, and much more. Now it’s time for you to choose your favourite lottery project and as the National Lottery celebrates its twenty-five birthday, it’s an extra special celebration.

The 25th Birthday National Lottery Awards are looming and the annual search for the UK’s favourite National Lottery funding project is open for entries. The awards provide an opportunity to shine a light on and celebrate the projects and inspirational initiatives around the UK and the people who use National Lottery funding to transform communities and make these extraordinary things happen, making a huge difference to communities across the nation.

This year the awards are particularly special as the National Lottery celebrates its 25th birthday. In the two and a half decades since the lottery launched, £39 billion has been given to good causes, spread between more than 535,000 causes! It’s a fantastic accolade and is the legacy of 25 years of lottery spending.

The awards recognise all the amazing work done by organisations and individuals around the UK who change lives for the better with the help of National Lottery funding. Everyone can enter and vote for their favourite project a lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards and the winner will gain nationwide acclaim and receive £10,000 at a star studded ceremony on BBC1.
