Man Goes on Vacation, Brings Back $1 Million Souvenir

We all like to bring a little something back when we’ve been on vacation and for one lucky holiday maker that was much more than he bargained for as the Virginia Lottery announced that a vacationer has scooped a $1,000,000 prize.

Jonathan Jones was vacationing with his family in Busch Gardens amusement park in Virginia and enjoying the break. When he popped into the Terrace Grocery in Williamsburg he thought he’d pick up a Powerball ticket and thought little else of it.

On July 22nd the Powerball draw took place and Jones matched five numbers while still on vacation, he’d purchased the ticket using the Easy Pick option but it certainly worked for him as he’s now lined up to collect a $1,000,000 prize.

It was a good job he was passing through too, as he was the only lucky player in Virginia to win a match 5 prize in the multi-state Powerball draw. Nationwide, just three players matched the second tier prize to each collect a $1,000,000 prize.

Jones has barely emptied his vacation suitcase and says as yet he has no plans of what to do with the prize, but it’ll certainly make a difference to him and his family! Jones currently works as a roofer and it looks like he’ll continue in this employment.

It’s certainly a holiday souvenir to remember, and we’re sure it’ll be one summer break that Jones will remember for a while yet, especially as the money won may pay for many summer vacations in the future.
