Big EuroMillions Jackpot for Tiny Island

It was a record matching jackpot for the EuroMillions on Friday night and whoever won would become one of the biggest winners the draw had ever seen. The top prize has been rolling since the Event Draw and it was starting to look as though no one would win, but one ticket matched all the numbers on Friday night, sending this huge jackpot to one tiny island!

The official news is that the EuroMillions jackpot has been won in Spain, but on Saturday when the winner contacted lottery officials, that claim came from Gran Canaria, one of the Canary Islands. It’s a massive jackpot for a tiny island and right now it’s making big waves in this tiny place as everyone tries to find out who the winner is!

We don’t have any other details about the winner, the island is popular with ex-pats from the UK, but it’s not known whether the winner is Spanish or a lucky Brit living abroad. What we do know is that the winner collects a massive €190,000,000 as the EuroMillions reached its cap this week and that’s the highest the jackpot can possibly go.

The lucky winner joins the likes of Colin and Christine Weir, the Scottish couple who became the EuroMillions first €190,000,000 winner, and the Bayfords, and several other anonymous winners who also managed this accolade.

Now the winner, whether they remain anonymous or not will join the EuroMillions Hall of Fame with a record matching win, joining the elite at the top of the winners’ table.

The next EuroMillions draw is on Tuesday night and that jackpot will be reset to base with €17,000,000 on offer.
