Londonderry Couple Celebrate Second Lottery Win

Most of us would consider winning the lottery once pretty lucky, but for one lucky couple from Londonderry, lightning has struck twice. Catherine and Ciaran Kidd were lucky enough to scoop £20,000 in the Lotto draw two years ago but now they’ve hit the big time again with a £1,000,000 EuroMillions win!

When the couple won £20,000 two years ago it was on the Lotto Millionaire Raffle. They were thrilled with their win and thought that was a Lotto luck for one couple. However, they didn’t stop playing, continuing to buy tickets week on week, and now they’ve struck it lucky again, this time winning the £1,000,000 Millionaire Maker prize on the EuroMillions!

Catherine said when she received the winning notification from the National Lottery she just assumed it was a small win, or a free ticket for the next draw. However, she was in work and couldn’t check the results so called home and asked Ciaran to check for her. When he logged on he discovered that the couple had won the big prize, the £1,000,000 Millionaire Maker prize.

The couple are still coming to terms with their win and can hardly believe they have been so lucky twice. Upon claiming the cheque and talking to the media they said they were happy it was now out in the open as keeping it a secret had been very difficult. The couple say they feel very privileged to be in the position of cashing two large wins, and now they hope to enjoy some of the freedom this big lottery win will offer.

Winning the lottery once in your life must be a wonderful experience, but to get lucky twice in two years! Well that’s quite something.
