Auckland Player Claims Second Win in Five Months

A lucky player from Auckland, New Zealand has had an unforgettable lottery win, scooping $11,000,000. The win is all the more remarkable as it’s her second big win in five months.

On Monday the unnamed lady collected an $11,000,000 Powerball First Division win, but she clearly has a knack for purchasing winning tickets as it’s only five months since the same player collected a $333,333 Lotto First Division win, beating odds of more than one in 147 trillion according to Lotto NZ.

The winner and her husband have spent their lives renting houses but now they say their first plan is house hunting to finally find their dream home. Although they had already started this process after their first win, these plans have now been stepped up a few notches and the couple can pretty much buy any home they fancy. After the second win they are now looking at homes with land, and possibly a swimming pool too.

The winner’s husband credits all the luck to his wife who bought both lottery tickets, the first from New World Albany and the second from Night n Day on Greville Rd, also on the North Shore.

The pair described this year as unforgettable, but didn’t say whether they intended on carrying on buying lottery tickets after the two wins.

We often write about lucky winners, but it’s not often we see the same person will more than one lottery prize in such close succession.
