One Winner Scoops $107,000,000 Aus Powerball Prize in New Record

The Aus Powerball is one of the most popular lottery draws in Australia and one lucky player has just set a new jackpot record after picking up a win worth an extraordinary $107,570,000 on Thursday night.

The Powerball jackpot was set to $100,000,000 for the draw but a large group of investors bought tickets in a bid to take out the top prize, but they lost and this lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, won, picking up the biggest Powerball prize in Australia’s history.

While she doesn’t wish to be named, lottery officials have confirmed that the winner is a mother in her 40s from inner city Sydney. She’s a healthcare provider and has no intention of quitting her job, though she said she plans to share her winnings with her family and give a slab of money to her favourite charity.

When contacted by lottery officials she thought it was a trick and originally misheard the amount, leaving her thinking she had won $107,000, when she found out the real amount she could hardly believe it, and she’ll now join Australia’s lottery hall of fame with this record win.

She’s not yet sure what she wants to do with her win but she’s passionate about her job and doesn’t want to quit, she says she may buy a caravan and travel but is still letting the good news sink in right now.

The lucky winner bought her ticket last Wednesday and used random numbers to become the country’s biggest Powerball winner of all time.

Other notable winners are twenty players who shared the second division prize, collecting $94,792 each. If you had tickets for the draw and haven’t yet checked them the winning numbers were 4, 11, 18, 20, 22, 26, and 33; the Powerball was 9.
