Unemployed Irish Mum Scoops €500,000 Scratchcard Prize

An unemployed mum from Dublin could barely hold back the tears as she collected a scratchcard win worth €500,000 from Lotto HQ in Dublin this week.

The lucky winner bought the All Cash Extravaganza Scratch Card in the Mace Maxol shop in Dublin last Tuesday and scratched it off to find she had won the top prize. She said she bought the ticket on the way to visiting a friend and scratched the card when she got there. She saw the winnings and was convinced there was an error and she’d only won €5,000 but the ticket was correct.

She didn’t say a word to her friend and could hardly believe her luck. She locked herself in the car to call her boyfriend and sat there for ages letting the news sink in.

Although the unnamed winner had always thought a house would be out of her reach, this changes everything and she intends on trying to buy the house that she is currently renting. She’s also hoping to buy a new car for herself.

It’s fantastic news and she wasn’t the only lucky winner in Ireland this week, as one lucky player also claimed €500,000 on the EuroMillions Plus prize last week. He’s also unnamed and bought his ticket at the new Circle K service station in Kill North, Co. Kildare. He bought the ticket on a whim when he was killing a bit of time during his work break and is absolutely thrilled at the win.

It makes for a lucky week in Ireland and players in the country might be interested to know that Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot is a rollover and estimated to be worth around €85,000,000!
