Wisconsin Player Scoops $768,000,000 Powerball Jackpot

The US lottery jackpots are well known for reaching sky-scraping proportions and the current Powerball jackpot did not disappoint. By March 27th, the Powerball jackpot had reached $768,000,000 and hadn’t found a winner all year. The jackpot had been growing steadily since late December and lottery fever had well and truly took hold!

Then on the March 27th draw the winning numbers 16, 20, 37, 44, 62 (12) were drawn and the Powerball Lottery announced that a single ticket had matched all the winning numbers, creating the third largest jackpot winner in Powerball history!

That winner has not yet come forward with the winning ticket but we do know the ticket was sold in Wisconsin, so if you buy lottery tickets in that area then we recommend you check the winning numbers as soon as possible!

Of the winners, another seven players matched all the main numbers without the Powerball and they all too hit rich, each collecting $1,000,000. Those winning tickets were sold in Arizona (1), California (2), Indiana (1), Missouri (1), New Jersey (1), and New York (1).

The Powerball Lottery is played in 44 American states, plus Washington DC, The US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. The draw format makes it one of the hardest lotteries in the world to win with mind-bending odds of 292.2 million to 1 to scoop the jackpot, and this is the reason we get big rollovers.

However, this lucky Wisconsin winner has beaten all the odds to collect the third biggest jackpot in the history of the draw, now that winner just has to decide between a lump sum and an annuity payment, and pay the tax of course!
